The 3r 8 is an 8m³ portable compactor which achieves compaction forces of 30 tonnes from its cross ram configuration. It has a compaction ratio of up to 6:1 and is therefore capable of producing payloads far in excess of conventional compactors with the added advantage of being 100% leak-proof and odour proof. Portable compaction has many benefits including reduced fire risk, improved hygiene due to less refuse spillage along with restricted entry to vermin and insects and minimisation of odours due to its closed design. Portable compactors are suitable for food waste applications. Enclosed portable compactors are more suitable where sites have an 'open access' area to the public.

It is of conical construction which guarantees trouble free emptying and ensures a quick turn around at the land fill site. All portable compactors feature ¾ full warning facility, auto shut down when full and interlock safety circuits on unloading door locks and loading lids. This compactor features a large 900mm x 1500mm filling aperture which enables easy and safe loading of waste by hand or fork lift. Options include integrated bin tipper for 240 -1100 litre bins and customised tippers. The compactor requires a hard, level standing area on which to be sited.
